In 2024, Wine Enthusiast named Mendocino the Greenest Wine Region in the U.S., recognizing its leadership in organic and regenerative farming. Nearly 25% of the county’s vineyard acreage is certified organic, more than anywhere else in California-and many growers go even further, embracing regenerative practices that actively restore soil health, build biodiversity, and increase carbon drawdown. This is farming that gives more than it takes. It’s not about sustainability as a buzzword-it’s about responsibility as a way of life.

Geographically, Mendocino is a grower’s dream. Coastal influence meets inland heat, giving rise to long growing seasons, incredible natural acidity, and flavor development that doesn’t rely on manipulation. From the cool-climate ridges of Anderson Valley to the sun-soaked pockets of Redwood and Potter Valleys, the diversity of terroir makes it a hotbed for both classic and unconventional varietals.

But what really sets Mendocino apart is its culture. Small, independent growers. Honest, ground-up winemaking. Zero hype. Just real people making wines that reflect place and purpose.
